Nashville Wedding: Monica + Zack

The site of Zack and Monica’s Nashville wedding was Crievewood United Methodist Church. It was only appropriate that their beginning of husband and wife began on a perfect evening, just as the sun was setting on another hot summer day. What follows are a few of my favorite images from this awesome couple’s wedding. Congratulations Monica & Zack!

Chattanooga Newborn: Ella Kate

Ella Kate is brand new.   She is Matt and Holli’s first and I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their newborn child.  I haven’t had the opportunity to document the beginning of life for very many people, so I definitely enjoy getting to see how small we all start out.  The details in a newborn’s room are fun to photograph as well because they’re typically vibrant and full of color; also notice there is a seemingly random picture of birds and flowers here. That’s actually a rather large canvas painting that was hand-drawn & painted by Holli.  Here are a dozen of my favorite images. Congratulations Matt and Holli!

Eric Yerke - I’m honestly blown away by this set. The light is so perfect for this shoot.

matt shumate - I’m not usually a big fan of newborn sessions because the focus becomes the props & not the baby. So happy to see that’s not the case here. What beautiful photos of a sweet child. Great job.

Geoff Poitras - You did an awesome job with these. The parents must have been thrilled to see these.

kristi wright - WOW. These are gorgeous!!! I love the detail shots and honestly the lighting and processing is beautiful.

Holli Hancock - Thanks again Paul…we couldn’t be happier with our pics…you’re amazing!

seth goodman - This is a great set of photos. The lighting is perfect and I love the photo where you can see the baby’s eye.

Nashville Engagement Photography Kelsey + Guy

Kelsey and Guy are both musicians, so it’s only fitting that they had their engagement pictures done in Nashville, while they’re actually getting married in Utah later this year. In fact, as I post this, they will have already begun their drive out west. They are both extremely gifted musically and I think they are headed for some big things in the future (google: Guy Gibbons music — also on itunes as The Gibbons). We spent some time in and around the Factory at Franklin for their engagement session–undeterred by the heat that is typical for this time of year. Here are a few of my favorite images from our time together on this gorgeous evening, just south of downtown Nashville. Congratulations on your engagement!

Nashville Engagement: Becky + Dustin

Becky swore to her best friend that from the first moment she saw Dustin she knew that he was ‘The One’.  I love stories like that.  They will be married next year in Nashville.  We met to do their engagement pictures recently at the Parthenon in Centennial Park and continued shooting well after the sun went down.  Swing music from a summer concert series could be heard even in the far corner of the park, and this awesome couple practiced a few moves on an outdoor stage.  Congratulations you guys—I’m looking forward to your wedding!

Nashville Wedding Photography Bailey + William

Bailey and William were married a few weeks ago at Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, TN. Bailey’s father is a Nashville wedding photographer (Allan Williams), and I was honored when he asked me to document their day. Bailey and Will broke with tradition slightly and did a first-look before the wedding in the empty sanctuary of the church.

This is one of the few quiet moments that exists on a wedding day and I’m glad they were able to spend that time with each other. After the ceremony, the bridal party and I rode to the Factory at Franklin on the church bus. A good time was had by all at what surely is one of the most unique reception venues in all of Nashville. What follows are some of my favorite moments from their day. Congratulations again!

Nashville Engagement: Lauren + Patrick

I met with a wonderful couple recently just outside of downtown Nashville to do their engagement pictures. Lauren and Patrick will be getting married later this year in Jamaica. They were a really fun couple to hang out with, and their easy-going nature made it incredibly easy to document their love for one another. Congratulations!

Paris Wedding Photography: Millie + Sam

Millie and Sam were married on the 4th of July in Paris, Tennessee.  I really enjoyed documenting their day—but what I think I enjoyed most was the gathering of close family and friends that lent a particularly intimate feel to this wedding.  It was only appropriate that the day ended with fireworks.  Below are some of my favorite images and moments from throughout the day. Congratulations Sam and Millie!

Nashville Engagement Photography Stacey + Justin

I had a chance to spend an evening with this awesome couple one evening last week. You can see an image of Stacey and Justin taken with a 60 year old camera in my last post (incidentally there are also a couple of film images in this post–see if you can tell the difference).  Engagement sessions are great as they’re typically a relaxing way to spend an evening with your significant other.  As the sun set and the day finally cooled off, there was a slight breeze, which helped make it a truly perfect evening.  Here are a few of my favorites from our time together. Congratulations Stacey & Justin!

Jessica Schilling - Beautiful! The colors and processing are lovely and dreamy.

Kirsten - These are very sweet, I love the last image of them running towards one another best.

Thomas Lester - Nicely done. I love the first shot a lot. That’s also a great take on the multi-exposure coming together thing. The running makes it perfect.

Kyle - Nice! The series of six of them sitting down and kissing in the field are my faves. Such a sweet moment and definitely crazy sweet light that you found there!!!

Milena Dekic - They’re all gorgeous, but I particularly love the last one, which is so sweet and the second last one is just perfection. You need to blow that up and make it into a canvas, it’s just so sweet and perfectly in love. :)
